dalailama“Mutual respect is the foundation of genuine Harmony”  ~The Dalai Lama

“The planet does not need more ‘successful’ people. The planet desperately needs more peacemakers, healers, restorers, storytellers and lovers of all kinds. It needs people to live well in their places. It needs people with moral courage willing to join the struggle to make the world habitable and humane and these qualities have little to do with ‘success’ as our culture is the set.”
-Dalai Lama

is more than just a man to be admired, he is the teacher we all need.  My brother, of whom I have previously spoken, held him in high regard and while researching the quote from the book I gave my brother; I have come to understand his admiration.

“His Holiness the XIVth Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, is the spiritual and temporal leader of the Tibetan people”  In 1989 he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize and joined many other peaceful, wise, compassionate, giving and Harmonious people that share that award.

War is like a fire in the human community, one whose fuel is living beings. I find this analogy especially appropriate and useful. Modern warfare waged primarily with different forms of fire, but we are so conditioned to see it as thrilling that we talk about this or that marvelous weapon as a remarkable piece of technology without remembering that, if it is actually used, it will burn living people. War also strongly resembles a fire in the way it spreads. If one area gets weak, the commanding officer sends in reinforcements. This is throwing live people onto a fire. But because we have been brainwashed to think this way, we do not consider the suffering of individual soldiers. No soldiers want to be wounded or die. None of his loved ones wants any harm to come to him. If one soldier is killed, or maimed for life, at least another five or ten people – his relatives and friends – suffer as well. We should all be horrified by the extent of this tragedy, but we are too confused.”

I am thankful that I decided to work on this project concerning my brother’s notebook and learn something new and worthwhile every time I research a quote.  ~~dru~~

Random Writings on the Bathroom Wall

I’m a third party voter this year.

Though not a girl by any means, I’m a woman prone to laughter.
The underdog is my adopted child.

I believe that fight is better than flight but I’m not a serious fighter.
I believe that might can overcome right but not for ever after.

My power I’m not afraid to say is not a super power,
but I can hang on for days and days with words,
just my words, and of course, songs in the shower.
and the parents I go after.

Hi folks 🙂

And she’s burning it down
Oh, she got her head in the clouds
And she’s not backing down

I have always been an dreamy person. I looked around, stared at one things and suddenly, an hour passed. And maybe this is why I sometimes look so awkward. Because I am so dreamy that I will walk right into a tree (it would not be the first time)or something like that. Many people say:‘Omg Tara. STOP dreaming, You are TOO dreamy.’ But you know… People who know me or are just dreamy too know that this doesn’t need to be a bad thing. I mean why would it be in first place? I can create ‘a movie’ and press button for play and watch it in my head when I am bored. Sounds crazy, I know… But I like…

‘Stop letting people who do so little for you control your mind, feelings & emotions.’ Will Smith

I would add stop anyone who does NOTHING for you from controlling you.

You must have a vision for your  life, anyone not helping  you move upward, & wants to keep you at the bottom to prey on you delete him/her/them from your life.

You live once, live correctly & by & on your own terms.

You’re the captain of your life’s ship, you’re the director, you call the shots not anyone else, you are the author of your life’s book, you write all the chapters, no one else has the right to write your life’s story for you.

& remember:

“First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.”

Mahatma Gandhi

Now stand up for you, & go fight for your life & dreams.

In Saner Thought

On this day in 1784 America’s first daily newspaper, Packet and Daily, hits the streets.

For most of my adult life I have been on the front lines of political protest….not so much these days….age and a handicap  has kept me sidelined with only words and moral support have been my only tools.

In the past I have been a protester on many issues….labor, war, military spending, etc…..I think that there is no greater stand than to stand for something good…..

The younger generation is not as committed as us old farts…they protests but it is more about their personal relationship with the economics of the state….not about principles…..

Political protests are the foundation of what makes this country what it is and without the ability to protest and make ones voice heard, we continue down this dangerous path of conflating the true meaning of the word democracy while condemning…

The one thing that is clear is that U.S. meddling in the Middle East is throwing fuel on the fire.

In Saner Thought

My regular readers know that I am thinking Green and that I firmly believe that foreign policy will be the most telling of issue in this election….

I have written extensively about the positions of the two major candidates and their issues on foreign policy….but I have written very little on the stands of the Green Party candidate, Dr. Jill Stein……and then I found an interview with her on this subject…..

The foreign policy positions of third-party candidates haven’t received a great deal of media attention in the 2016 presidential election, but that could change in the weeks ahead as polls continue to tighten in crucial battleground states.

“[M]ost voters think/assume that Clinton is going to win. That can de-motivate turnout, or shift votes to [third] parties,” tweeted elections analyst Nate Silver.

RealClearWorld had the opportunity this week to discuss a variety of foreign policy issues with Green Party presidential…

Sheldon Kleeman

Forever is a long time

Especially when life is involve

No one knows the time of life

How long it will last

I would love to keep

All of my forever hearts

Especially how much

love there was for

Each of those hearts

But life gets in the way

Took each of those

Now all I have are

Pieces of Forever

Instead of the many

Forever Hearts

Gone bye
