The Game is Afoot – Contribute to PBS

I am a sucker for Sherlock Holmes from the Conan Doyle wonderful original stories thru just about every incarnation that has been published or televised over my lifetime (I watched the Basil Rahtbone movies on TV)  and I must say the current BBC series, set in our time, has me mesmerized.  I watch, not faithfully but avidly, and catch up as I can.  I was astounded that while I have been making my decisions this evening regarding where I shall distribute my pence, for the end of this year and the beginning of the coming year, to turn to one of my favorite So Cal TV Stations and find a membership drive aimed directly at the fans of this current series.  

So of course I sent in my $5 and while this drive is over for this evening; PBS is a most honorable recipient should you be looking to clean up your own karma too before the end of the year.

Although I was not expecting to sprint over the 366-finish line, I must admit I feel more like I am limping.

But here is the last and 366th/366th photo for 2016.

It is also the last post for Move the Chair.

This all started with a gentle suggestion and nudge from an art coach in 2012 to move beyond Facebook postings of my photographs and to start a blog showing my work. Since then over 1,000 posts have been added along with hundreds of photographs.

In the beginning, it was frightening. What if nobody came? Or worse what if nobody found anything worth looking at? But then I realized the amazing gift I had been given by that suggestion: a giant canvas on which I could throw anything and everything to see what worked–for me–and what did not. I’m not sure I’m going to “go” for this one but maybe some of you out there will, so here goes

Once President-elect Trump takes office, we need to be ready to defend our progressive victories and respond to Republican attempts to jeopardize health care for millions of Americans, undo our progress on addressing climate change, and give tax breaks to the wealthy at the expense of working families.

What Bernie proved during his presidential campaign is when millions of people come together, we can accomplish things that no one ever thought possible. We have a lot of tough fights ahead of us, but we can win those fights if we do it together.

Your small-dollar donations and dedication to the progressive values we share is what makes our work possible. You have been and continue to be the greatest strength of our organization and this movement.
