I took a look at your add. Nice looking. I could see that hanging on a knotty pine wall.
I had way over thirty duck wall pockets at the old house and they hung up along the eaves on the outside wall where you walked under a large walnut tree to get into the house. They really looked cool up there along the grey wall but my “new/old” house is made of plaster and I just can’t put that many holes in the wall. All the walls of the “HE” and my first home were pine and the inside was dark stain and varnish only.
This is the only real goose I had so I thought I’d give it a try because it is an oddity. Already someone wants me to take many more pictures; I added the back at their request but I’m not taking the trouble to go further. I have no facilities to actually take very good pictures and no skill to accomplish that. I suggested they didn’t bid after all and will just include this in the bulk wall pockets I take to the consignment shop…..sigh.
I probably averaged $15 to $20 per pocket but will only get about $4-5 on consignment but I guess it beats tossing them which would break my heart.
Ageing sucks and even though I adore my grandparents’ 80 year old home which I bought, I miss those wood walls that you could spackle. I had upwards of 400 wall pockets inside and out, one large wall on the patio of just pink, turquoise, and black and a large number of figural fruit and asian pockets on the inside.
