I second the motion, provide more heat to the Republican Party on this matter. ~~dru~~

Summer is in full force here in the Northern Hemisphere. If I don’t get my yard work started before Noon, it is not happening. I worked through 12:30 pm today and am a worn out camper.

Speaking of heat, the Senior and Junior Donald are feeling the heat right now. More than a few conservative reporters, pundits and legislators are concerned over Junior’s zeal to collude with Russia and his evasive storytelling. As Charles Krauthammer noted in his column, the ability for Senior to claim this is a media and Democrat witchhunt is now over.

Continuing with the theme of heat, a large chunk of Antarctica sea ice fell into the ocean. The fact that it was the size of Rhode Island should be a wake up call. Melting sea ice won’t directly increase sea level, but the buffer it provided to land ice is gone. And, as land ice…

I’ve hung the missing posters –

stapled them to light poles.

Only the wind answers back

in haughty undertones.

Fool, it huffs, as it slaps my face,

Humanity is a runaway.

No use looking.

No one cares.

In this desolate terrain,

you’ll be soul searching in vain.

United States ranks 50 out of 55 developed countries in healthcare efficiency, life expectancy, and healthcare spending per capita (Bloomberg). Our senators and congressmen are covered under government health plans for life, yet they quibble about offering the sickest and poorest children the right to the same quality of care. Where are these people’s souls? I certainly can’t find them.

The first Trump budget has arrived, and it is as cruel and heartless as we expected.

Donald Trump’s proposed budget would take an axe to the social safety net at a time when rampant economic inequality leaves too many struggling to get by. Trump wants to slash food stamps – and even cut Social Security, despite his repeated promises he would not do so. He and Betsy DeVos want to cut $11 billion from public education, eliminating 22 programs. Perhaps worst of all are massive funding cuts for Medicaid, which would end the program as we know it and steal health care from about 10 million low-income Americans.

Our Revolution

This week, our country became the laughingstock of the world when Donald Trump announced his shameful and foolhardy decision to pull the United States out of the Paris climate accord. This administration’s commitment to bankrolling fossil fuel industry donors like the Koch brothers is unique in the world. By allowing billionaires and corporations to buy elections, they have carte blanche to force our government to deny the empirical evidence of climate change….

These climate deniers try to spin their greed using excuses like “I am not a scientist,” “the earth is made as God intended,” and other empty platitudes to deflect any accountability to their own decisions.

We want to defeat the entire corrupt edifice of profitability in pollution. From the oil,

Oil, natural gas, and coal are finite. They will run out before the end of this century. By pulling out of the Paris Agreement, Trump has already surrendered America’s position as the leader of the free world. If we continue on the course that he’s charted for the country, the free world will leave us behind. We’ll be left, scratching the dirt where the oil wells and coal mines used to be, wondering where it all went wrong….

The company you keep matters. Rather than be in the company of other world leaders to help save the planet, the President of the United States decided to be in the company of Nicaragua and Syria. It should be noted Nicaragua wanted the Paris deal to go further. So, we are joined at the hip with Syria.

Going against the wishes of the majority of Americans and even a majority in his own party, the current incumbent in the White House decided to withdraw the United States of America from an agreement it helped forge with China.

Rather than work with others under the Paris Climate Change Accord, the President has decided the children and grandchildren of the world do not matter. He has decided that reneging on a major step forward is better than working with others. His reasons ring hollow, especially when he speaks of his actions to…

In Saner Thought

The wait is over!

There has been much speculation on what the prez will say on the Paris Agreement……we now have the answer….

President Trump announced Thursday that the US will immediately cease “all implementation” of Paris climate change accord standards, the AP reports. “In order to fulfill my solemn duty to protect America and its citizens, the United States will withdraw from the Paris climate accord but [begin] negotiations to reenter either the Paris accord or an entirely new transaction under terms that are fair to the United States,” Trump said, per CNN. “We’re getting out.”

While introducing Trump in the Rose Garden, Vice President Mike Pence said Trump is “choosing to put American jobs and American consumers first” with his announcement that the US will withdraw from the Paris accord. Pence praised Trump’s leadership and said Trump is “is choosing to put the forgotten men and women…

I don’t know about you, but the routine chaos surrounding our fearless leader is wearing me out. A week has not passed by without some chaos, almost all of it self-inflicted. And, sometimes it is daily, if not hourly wounds.

We should remember that Julius Caesar was killed during the ides of March. Yet, while Julius was knifed in the back by Brutus, our leader needs to look in the mirror at his worst enemy who is doing him in. Our President’s greatest enemy is Donald Trump and it is not even close.

The Guardian has a story today about the worst leaker in the White House. His name is Donald Trump. Who is the source of the most lying – Donald Trump? Who is the source of changing the story which discredits his people who are lying for him – Donald Trump?

It goes on. Whose actions and inane…

Not to overstate the obvious, but it would behoove those who serve the President to remember the famous title of the Watergate movie – “All the President’s Men.” While President Nixon was pardoned for any crimes that led to his resignation, over twenty of his colleagues went to jail.

Our current President has many challenges that continue to be problematic. His biggest character flaws are his large ego, thin skin and disdain for telling the truth. Yet, what makes these attributes even worse is he cannot remain silent when that would be the wiser course of action. As a result, he has unforced errors.

A month ago, the bookies in London had the odds at even money, this President would resign or be impeached before his first term ends. My guess is the odds are now better than 50/50 that he won’t make four years.

While the proof has yet…
