Muscular beast rocking back and forth on my lap, really too big to fit.  You are my stalwart friend yet fiendish antagonist.

Your claws rip my skin, you hog my bed, you trip me walking between my feet and stop mid stride to stretch causing me all sorts of discomfort and near fatal accidents.

Yet you seem to be always by my side, loving me steadfast with bites, claws, and purrs.

My Spitz you are my companion.  I curse you when you’re near and worry if you are not in the room.  Why must you be such a large cat?

Why do you act like that?



fifties5I am tossing out a lot of old photos from my Grandparent’s day and came across this one that I call the “FIFTIES 5”.  My family had just returned to California from a year or so in Panama and this is a picture of “us kids” and my California cousin.  Times were simpler then and weren’t we

Move the Chair

Although I was not expecting to sprint over the 366-finish line, I must admit I feel more like I am limping.

But here is the last and 366th/366th photo for 2016.

It is also the last post for Move the Chair.

This all started with a gentle suggestion and nudge from an art coach in 2012 to move beyond Facebook postings of my photographs and to start a blog showing my work. Since then over 1,000 posts have been added along with hundreds of photographs.

In the beginning, it was frightening. What if nobody came? Or worse what if nobody found anything worth looking at? But then I realized the amazing gift I had been given by that suggestion: a giant canvas on which I could throw anything and everything to see what worked–for me–and what did not.
